Bromothymol Blue Indicator
I have just made some Bromothymol Blue indicator. Method used is: 2g bromothymol blue powder, 100ml ethanol and 500ml distilled water. My solution is an orange/red colour. Do I add a couple of drops of NaOH to make it go blue? If so, will this effect the titration that year 12 will be doing (HCl, Na...

RED CABBAGE INDICATOR
Thanks for all your suggestions. We will try them. Unfortunately, Tibouchina'a don't grow in Goulburn (probably too cold, too many frosts). I did have some red cabbage frozen, but my prep room freezer broke over the holidays.
Again thank you.

RED CABBAGE INDICATOR
I am finding it difficult to buy red cabbage at the moment. One of our Chemistry teachers has said that the cabbage can be subsitiuted by red roses, however they are very expensive at the moment.
Does anyone know of another substitute that can be used?
Thank you.

She layed the cat on a piece of very thick white cardboard and attached it with fishing line, (put small holes in the cardboard in several places and threaded the ...

Van de Graaf Generator
David
One of my Science teachers tried the experiment with the pie dishes, without any success. Do you use a normal size dish? Our generator seems to be working properly as the teacher performed the experiment using a student holding a fluorescent tube (the tube lit up).
Thanks

Hi m
We purchased preserved rats (males and females) in May of this year from Science Supply, they were supplied within a week or so.
