We use 6M HCl - it is fast - needs to be watched , eggs need to be moved so time intestsive. they work better that way than using vinegar or 1M HCl overnight - the vinegar makes the eggs swell and reduces the effectiveness of the osmosis (the point of the prac).

Actually double dimonds should be stored seperately from other dimond classes. so in this case no hydrogen peroxide should not be stored with any other peroxide nor should it be stored with corrosives but on its own. yes it is a nighmare as far as space and logistics but that is the how it is meant ...

I agree Macca - everytime i see a lab accident i also flogg the teacehrs with it - ok not literally - really to show them it does actually happen it is not just me going on about some therotical. i also understand legally a lit of the time things can not be shared which is a pitty as they need to be...

I agree their site is not user friendly - if you know the cat numbers it is a treat if not - grrr time wasting in my opinion.
i get a hard copy sent to me each year of the cat and get the numebrs i need from there and then go to the order section and order that way - not as time consuimg trust me

like Ian we have 8 Ohaus Scout Pro 400g x 0.01g for the classrooms which are stacked 4 together in a tote tray that are stored in the prep room in a rack and transported in the totes to the room required. possibly not the best way but it helps keep them tidy and as only 4 fit in each tote they tend ...

NOt sure about other states but i know here in the wild west we have a directive that all plates that are used to grow anything must be taped once they have been "seeded". never to be opened again ever. they get incubated taped up and sterilized taped up. not sure i would trust half the te...
