LAZSTA

A belated Happy New Year to All

Does anyone or school have a membership with LAZSTA? Most information on website and Wiki relates to 2009 with little mention of following years. I would like to hear more of it if you can help.

Re: Help Please- pH solutions for enzyme pracs

We are doing this prac tomorrow. (Liver and pH).
Are you using specific pH solutions only to add to the liver OR do you adjust the Hydrogen peroxide pH using specific pH solutions?
I have been asked for pH adjusted Hydrogen Peroxide.
Slightly confused. Maybe it's because it is Monday.

Re: What Do You Tell People?

In the holidays after term 2 I had a teacher ask me what do I do when there is no-one around. I answered WORK! I have a list of tasks that I start preparing through the term (as they come up and I have a fair idea of how long those tasks will take). These tasks are the same as those in other posts. ...

Teacher just did this prac with the old sheets with filings in them. (They were here before I came along.) They caught alight and and only a few charred pieces remain. I am so glad I found this post. Am now preparing to make the new wax sheets. :) Thank you.

Re: Eosin

Curious to know what you all do....
Do you add a few drops of 1% eosin to beaker of water with celery or do you place celery in 1% eosin only?
We have added the stain to the celery already in water and it seems to work OK.

I raced home at lunch and grabbed some powdered food dye. Tried mixing with acetone before adding to two litres oil and it changed colour. Thanks for the tips. Fingers crossed for last period.

We use it to track movement of ions. Prac works well.
I am fortunate we have a factory nearby who have given me a piece of their off-cuts.
