Storing radioactive rocks can be easy if you know how 'hot' they are. For example a granite kitchen bench is radioactive also. So you need to consider if you are reading the levels appropriately. How often should the safety showers be checked? We only have the little hand held eye washers so I change the water in those weekly. We had some of those handheld bottles that needed water refills...I have ditched them and purchased 1L saline bottles for the labs with an eyewash attachment on them....

We use morning fresh on our gas syringes...just a little. Works a treat, better than having Vaseline or silicon grease all over them.

We use these ones, haven't had any issues with them. Often though we tell them to leave the hot gear and we duck in between classes and put away.

I have removed every tiny bit of mercury from the school, even some old thermometers we had. No longer needed in my opinion in a school

We've made safety glasses a personal item for our older kids no more cleaning glasses after each use for us. Love it.

Another Stile whinge. Yesterday I spent about two hours prepping for a Stile prac. I think I should be treating these like prac tests - every class does it, to justify the effort and I need two weeks notice! Today's request - 1kg flour and 100g of cocoa so the kiddies can drop marbles from a height...
