I am not sure what a spectrum discharge tube is. We got our cross vacuum scale going, such a beautiful piece of equipment, took years of nagging the mad physics teacher though. Then I did a PD day here and he demo'd it and explained how to get it to work. Manufactured by Kagaku Kyoeisha Ltd requires induction coil and power supply and viola. One tube doesn't work though.

Agree with earlier post that Serrata holder that they come with was utter crap , fortunately we have an oldy but a goody still on the shelf .Have to swap them one at a time , but far more stable .
