Microscopes for senior Biology

Post by astagni »

Hi there.
Looking at purchasing new microscopes for seniors, maybe with a camera! Has anyone had any experience using Smartphone adaptors, whether it would be a cheaper option? Would appreciate your opinion and recommendations. Many thanks... Annie

We bought expensive microscopes then purchased Smartphone (universal) adapters from china (AliExpress) around $5 each they work brilliantly can then enlarge even further.

I would strongly recommend going down that line too .
We got a couple of Microscopes from ISSCO that come with a camera but when we tried to install the software on latest rollout of Laptops , it wouldn't work .Website link for software update no longer there . So cameras are becoming obsolete after three years . :-({|=

If you can fit an adaptor to take the latest Phone then you will never have obsolete equipment . :whistling2:
Having said that , our nearly 15 year old video microscope is still going strong ( as long as the projectors still have a CVBS video input on them )

Sorry been a bit distracted lol Prism Optical. Bit expensive but we haven't bought new senior microscopes in over 20 years hopefully they'll last another 20 yrs.

Happy holidays everyone! :coffee: 2 days and counting.
