1M Iron (III) Nitrate

Post by remlap12 »

Good morning all, I have another question.....
I need to make up a 1M solution of Iron (III) Nitrate, I have a recipe for 0.1M 40.4g in 950ml water + 50ml of 2M nitric acid and
0.5M 202g in 900ml water + 100ml of 2M nitric acid
my brain hurts this morning....I'm not sure how much nitric acid to put in for the 1M solution??
I'm only making a small amount, say 250ml hellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllp!! [-o< :-?
I can't even think how much water I'll need 8O #-o

250ml of solution ......101g iron(III) nitrate + 50ml 2M nitric acid (You will need 200ml of water.) You others out there can correct me if I'm wrong. Having a bad week are you? and it's only Monday.
Why on earth does the teacher require the solution to be so strong?
