Dilute the Conc HCl to about 10-20% in plastic bucket then add Sodiun BiCarbonate. Lots of bubbles. Keep adding the BiCarb till no further bubbling.

Conc. HCl must only be dispensed in a fume cupboard. Gloves that are resistant to HCl must be worn e.g. Nitrile or polyethylene-based.
Neutralise using Sodium Carbonate solution (say, 20% W/V). NB. This could generate copious quantities of CO2 Wear eye-protecting goggles.

When you add the Bi Carb or carbonate do it in small amounts at a time, as suggested in the fumehood.
