Citric acid and bi-carb soda was the original fruit salts. Better known now as Enos. Check out the ingredients list on the Enos bottle and work out quantities from what is listed.
Lyn.
It is a mixture of bicarb soda and citric acid (I just googled it) but didn't find anything about quantities. Sounds like someone came up with a good idea back in the 1800s and it is still selling!!
Each 5gm Enos contains
Sodium Bicarbonate 2.32gms
Sodium Carbonate 0.5gms
Citric Acid Anhydrous 2.18gms
I have a bottle that is now about 10 years old that is used for Acids and bases, and other topics and I just refil it from my Chem store when its empty.
Im with Wendy I have been making up my Enos for many years now in the same old bottle - no one has complained yet. This is a heap cheaper way of having this on hand, they willnever know the difference. What they dont know will not harm them.
