We need to purchse buchner funnel filtration set up. I remember that it attaches to the lab taps and you need the "thing" that goes from the flask to the tap to create the vacuum.
I have looked in my supply catalogues but I am a bit confused about what exactly to buy to connect it all up. Also any recommendations as to what size flask, funnel etc would be adequate would be most appreciated
Hope someone can help

buchner funnel set up
Hi,
the website supplied are good aren't they, especially the second one.
Our set-ups include:
250 mL sidearm buchner flasks, &
50mm (outside diameter) buchner funnels.
The trick is to get a funnel size that will be compatible with
the filter paper that fits inside (you can always trim your own to a suitable size), and
also a rubber stopper that is compatible with the flask and the funnel stem. You can bore your own hole, it's usually a bit more than 1-1.5cm.
If you have a scientific supplier, maybe it's best to ask for a set of matching
equipment.
Down here in NSW, Serrata is worth a call and I'm sure they will match them for you.
Have fun,
~Robyn
