Was doing some research on the GHS thing discussed in a separate post and came across a safety alert entitled
"Preventing structural collapse during demolition"
I laughed so hard!!! I didn't follow the link for fear of finding some logic behind the title...
Safety Alert
Re: Safety Alert
It certainly makes one wonder.........
Re: Safety Alert
Ah! Life is SO funny at times... I love reading signs - especially road signs where brevity is more important than making sense...
Each state has its own idiosyncrasy - for example signs about tocks that may fall from cliffs that are beside roads..
One state has the sign "Falling Rocks Don't Stop' - yes we know that, until something gets in their way.
Another state has - "Don't Stop Falling Rocks" - as if I was going to jump out and catch one!
And would you want to use a 'Disabled Toilet'? or an 'Alarmed Door'..
these are just common examples I am sure all of you have others... maybe we could put a book together of nonsense signs..

Re: Safety Alert
A couple of classic less than perfect translations....
In an Austrian ski lodge
"Please not to perambulate the corridors in the hours of repose in the boots of ascension."
&
In a car rental brochure, Tokyo
"When passenger of foot heave in sight, tootle the horn. Trumpet him melodiously at first, but if he still obstacles your passage then tootle him with vigor."
Next time someone cuts me off in traffic I must remember to tootle him with vigour!!
