We used to get CSIRO to come out and do a session on a cattle rustling case. It was very good but not sure if all states run the same thing. We weren't going to do it this year as Forensics isn't in the new curriculum.

We do "WHO DONE IT"
We have someone break into my prep room
Dirt on the floor with the GA's foot print in it
Broken beaker as if it has fallen out on the cupboard
Fake blood (made from paint that is washable)on the doors of the cupboards and foot print in the fake blood.
and I tell the students that something is missing eg: a chemicals.
The kids then have to interview me and ask all sorts of things.
I also open a window just to put them off or put a small step ladder near the window.
They have a fun and then have to work out who it is.
We even have a trial.

I'll talk to my hubby, the crime scene copper, for his suggestions. He trains police these days, so has lots of training ideas.
