fume cupboards

Someone has posed a question to me ......

Does anyone know if second hand fume cupboards are available from anywhere ??

I would imagine that replacement fume cupboards are bought for a reason ... being that the old fume cupboard doesn't work any more.

We are undergoing a re-furb and a new Chemistry classroom is being built. We are going from five fumehoods (four of these double sided) across five classrooms and two labs, to just one double-sided one (one side in new lab, other side in Chemistry classroom). I asked if we could move one of the old ones and have it installed in my new chemical store room. The answer was - too expensive to move and re-install, cheaper to buy new ones.
It is a pity because, although old, they all worked perfectly fine.
