Chromatography Column and Sephadex

Hello All
The chemistry teacher has asked me to order a chromatography column with "some sephadex". SSA have the column, but don't list a price. I've googled sephadex and it's a trade name for a type of gel (?), but can't find a supplier. I'm assuming that he is intending to use the sephadex in the column. Has anyone bought a chromatography column recently? Do you remember how much it cost? Does anyone have one already and what do you use in it?

I googled 'Sephadex' and found 'GE Healthcare Life Sciences' who supply it in a variety of sizes - super fine to coarse - at upwards of $300 for 100g.
Way out of my price bracket!

Spend more than his fair share of the budget? I'm not familiar with the prac and he would be proud to call himself "old school" except he hasn't been teaching long enough for that title!
