Hi All,
Does anyone know of any cpommercially available esters?
What is the chemical name and where can I buy them?
Thanks
Lorrae
Esters
Re: Esters
Hi Lorrae,
would the cooking flavours available in the supermarket be esters??
Almond oil, peppermint flavouring, artificial vanilla, pinappple, banana, lemon essence?
Their chemical formulae would be available on the internet, I reckon...
Good Luck,
~Robyn

Re: Esters
Hi Lorrae,
I noticed we have in the Chem Store the following - methyl salicylate (oil of wintergreen), ethyl acatate (rum?), and methyl acatate (nail polish remover?). We must have purchased them from somewhere! Hope this helps, otherwise the flavours from the supermarket sound good.
Regards, Ellice.
