Oh goody!!!
I've been waiting anxiously for the conference stuff to arrive. As usual, I can't wait to get there. I'll have to harass the office ladies and see if mine is in the incoming mail. I wouldn't miss it for the world!

I got my form this morning and I've already had it approved. I'm just choosing my courses. I missed out last year so I'm determined not to miss out this year. See you all there.

HI All
The letter for the conference at St Mary's is addressed to the LAB ASSISTANT so you should all get one

Question for those of you who are going: does your school pay your travel and accommodation and fees? Mine will probably say they can't afford it, and I don't know that I can. But would love to go.

T-up with someone else up your way (if possible) and split the cost of travel and accomodation if you can! It's about the only way labbies from non metro areas can get to go from a SAM's point of view.
I think a few have done it in past years.

Yes that is the way to go, we even car pool, from Liverpool, only to help with the parking. The fees should come from training for SAO or perhaps still called SASS staff. I claim via my tax for the car, and petrol money from the school. THey pay for one day, each way, then the other school pays for the next day.

Re: 2008 St Marys conference
Darelle,
My school pays the course fees and replaces me, but I cover the rest.
I've found it well worthwhile in terms of learning opportunities, let alone the camaraderie of time spent with like-minded people.
Guess how it depends on whether there are workshops you're interested in doing.
We do car pool from Tamworth, and are happy to share accommodation too.
I keep all dockets, and claim for motel, petrol (if it's my car) and evening meals.

I fly down and claim for the flights on my tax. I stay with a friend at Ashfield and catch the train to St Marys in the mornings. Claim for train fares also.
Well worth the initial expense.
I love this conference!!

Hi Tina!
You can have mine - I'll send it home with one of your kids. I can't go this year :( The Tamworth Musical Society put the dates back for the musical so we can perform in the new theatre.
