Can somebody please explain why some of us on this site are referred to as:
lab assistants, some are lab attendants, some lab technicians and others, lab managers? Excuse my ignorance but how do I change my title?

Hi Kath,

All you need to do to change your title on the site is to post things. A total of 10 postings will take you to the next level. I'm not sure what the point of it is, though.

The star system/ranking system simply shows a members activity level on the board.

As of 23 Jan07, the members ranking system has been changed to something more self explanatory.
