Hi everyone,
We have 1300 students at our school.
8 classes in each of the junior years
year 11: 5xbio
5xchem
3x physics
1x sen. science
1x EES
year 12 5x bio
4x chem
3x physics
1x sen. science
1x EES
I have 1 day off each cycle (two weeks) and another lady works 2 days a week.
Our teachers don't tend to do the same experiments as they don't teach from a text book. It is crazy some days as we have a 7 period day so lots of experiments every day. All those senior classes keep us busy.
We have 7 labs spread out over 3 different parts of the school. At the moment access to 1 block is limited by building works so it is a long walk round the building when you have to carry things - Trolley access is blocked temporarily.
Sounds like conditions vary a lot from school to school.
Have a nice weekend everyone.

I feel like I have it pretty easy... 2 classes per grade (7, 8 and 10), 3 smaller year 9 classes and 2 yr 11 bio (total 29 students), one physics (6 students) and 1 Chem (12 students). Yr 12 has one small class each of chem, physics and bio. I also sometimes help out in the junior school (never more than twice/term so far...). I work 30 hours/week and not in holidays. I have no assistant (don't really need one!) but I do have a dishwasher! :) Life has been so much easier since then. Clean glassware makes all the difference in prac! Experiments actually work now!!

Morning Everyone!

I have completed the survey!!! Thank you all so very much for so generously sharing your working situation with me. I have attached the result of my survey and hopefully it may help you as well as me. If any of you should require the raw data, i'd be more than happy to share it with you. I could not preform any stats due to the nature of the data, but its still quite good.

Thank you all again, I really appreciate your help! =D>

Hi.. I am a long time reader, first time writer. This web site is a Godsend for me.
I have around 1000 junior students & around 60 senior students,
7 labs, 7 teachers & 3 prep rooms.
I am the only lab tech & work 20 hours a week.
I am very fortunate to have great teachers who help ,as I am learning the job as I go.
