Geology crude oil

Post by lygray »

Hi All,
Is it possible to get a sample of crude oil? One of my teachers has asked. Said they had one at his last school. I have looked but to no avail.
Thanks

In Melbourne, I do not live that far from an oil refinery. And they gave me Bass Strait light oil. Maybe you could do that same up in Sydney. Find out who the Public Relations Manager of your nearest oil refinery is and get in touch. You would have to collect it of course. But, depending where you live, it might be a nice afternoon's outing!

One of our teachers uses sump oil and says it gives a pretty good idea of what crude oil is like.
