FUME CUPBOARD
FUME CUPBOARD
Just started this job and was told that the newly installed fume cupboard needed to be certified. Does anyone know how to go about this ie. who I can contact? Our school is near Batemans Bay, Canberra or Sydney would be the nearest large centre. Thanks.

Hi!!
I contacted a company called Conditionaire International Ph 97743355.
They are located in Milperra.
They did a Nata Smoke and Velocity test for me in March and also some repairs on Two of our fume cupborards.
They may be able to help you.

The science faculty had a new fume cupboard installed last year by Kemproof Industries Pty Ltd it took a while but they eventually came back to certify the unit checking airflow , gas and power, the certification sticker is attached to the front shield

Asset Management could possibly come to the aid here. Talk to your GA or Principal to find out the relevant details of where to go in this case.
Most Fume Cupboard testing is per the Australian Standard for Fume Cupboard Operation and is usually performed by NATA accredited testing authorities to gain the certification.
Hope this has also helped and added to your repertoire.
