Resealing Bromine Lid to prevent Vapour Escape

Post by Robb »

Hi All,

To prevent the vapour from escaping after you have breached the original seal simply melt some Paraffin Wax and invert the bottle into the liquid wax, (do this so that the lid and part of the neck of the bottle is submersed). Repeat this for several attempts until the seal is thick enough to prevent any vapour escaping.

Next time it is used just peel off the wax before you open the bottle, then repeat the above process to re-seal it again.

This will prevent any vapour from escaping and makes for a insoluble and air tight seal.

It is ideal for sealing Iodine bottle lids as well.

Hope this helps,
