saturated sodium acetate - really cool

Hi guys

I've just done this really cool thing after seeing it on youtube.
You make a supersaturated solution of sod. acetate (it was meant to be trihydrous but we only have annhydrous, still worked just the proportions were different). Heat until dissolved. Cool, then pour on top of a few cyrstals of dry sod. acetate on a watch glass. Instantly it crystalizes forming a staligmite structure. It was quite exciting \:D/
It said you could reuse by reheating to dissolve again, but I didn't have as much success with that.

Sounds good fun. Looking forward to trying it. And then looking smart when I suggest it to the teachers! 8-)
