I need instructions for the "banded iron experiment" something with iron sulfate and manganese dioxide .....????

Yes, indeed. Need more input. Is this some form of oxidation or precipitation experiment? Perhaps geology?

Banded Iron is a sedimentary rock formation, composed of alternating layers of iron oxides and shale or chert (both iron poor sedimentary rocks).

It is for EE year 12, rock formation ?????
need experiment for it. I had it; but washed my USB one too many times :oops: )
all I can remeber is these few chemicals :-?

I have looked in our Enviromental Science text books but couldn't find anything. The EES teacher could provide no information either.

However I couldn't resist posting this picture of "banded iron" that I took at Broken Hill :cheesy:
