If chemtalkers out there are having problems accessing the website try the following:
Type in the chemtalk.com.au website then add a forward slash and index.php
If that works then add it to your favourites site. Sorry about the convoluted instructions but I wasn't allowed by the site to put the whole address.

Thank you Ocker. Yes I know. It wasn't until I posted it that I thought well that would be pretty useless unless you were already logged in. It's Friday. Forgive me. Anyhow I left it up because someone out there might not already have it listed in their favourites and is forever typing in the website address. Forgive me again. I know we already have this site listed under favourites. I have previously tryed to get onto chemtalk using every avenue I could think of and have ended up on a European chemtalk site, a Japanese site (couldn't understand a single word) and other various deadends. Have a good long weekend everyone. I think some of us need it.

Same problem again this morning. Anyone have any idea what has happened with access to this site. I was able to access the board index using index.php after the address but did have a problem using the login name and password. However persistence sometimes pays off.

Like I said somewhere else, I can only get on by adding a tag to the standard address, e.g. "/portal.php" or "/index.php"

Up until now all I had to do was click the site that I had under favourites and I was taken straight to the index site. From there all I had to do was logon and I had full access. That doesn't appear to work now without personally typing in the full address with the added extras. Bit of a nuisance.

You could alway just edit your Favourites link to use the full address.

Are you using a version of Internet Explorer?

If so, then instead of left-clicking on the link to open it, right-click on it to popup a menu. Select the "Properties" menu item to bring up a dialog box. On this move to either the "Web Document" or "Details" tab. Then just edit the URL field and click "okay" to save. (You could also take the opportunity to change the name or icon before you save.)

According to my favourites listing the full index address is already there so it must have been gremlins in the system to make my morning entertaining/frustrating for the start of the week. Not what I needed.

Thanks for the information Graham. I'm learning new things everyday.
