Can anyone tell me if there's any difference between ammonia and cloudy ammonia, I need to make a 2M solution and only have cloudy ammonia on hand? [-o<

I believe cloudy ammonia may have a small quantity of soap added to it. I personally wouldn't use it for lab solutions.

Also, I'm not sure of what is printed on your bottle with regard to concentration, but you'd obviously need to what you were starting with to be able to produce a 2M solution.

It depends what you need it for.. soemtimes you can get away with using cloudy ammonia if it isn't for a critical chemistry prac.
Give it a try and see

I suspect the initial conc of Ammonia in Cloudy ammonia may well be below 2M in the first place.....

Cloudy ammonia in deed contains a little amount of soap. It is less than 5% solution, which is only less than 2M. I would not use it for experiments.
