i did my last day today and now am off on long service until the holidays. :D

Tomorrow at about 8.30 am my husband and I head off towards Narrandera and Lake Mungo on the first leg of our road trip to Kalgoorlie to visit our eldest son and then on to Perth and around the southern coast of WA.
We then return to kalgoorlie for another couple of days and return home via Broken Hill and the Menindee lakes.

A practice for later life as a grey nomad :cheesy:

We will be home for Anzac Day to watch our youngest son march for the 14th time, This time at the head of the school as Vice Captain.
He marched as a pre-schooler because his big brother and sister were marching so why couldn't he!

I am so excited. It is the first time Ian and I have spent more then 2 nights alone for over 25 years. let alone actually having 4 weeks off! :clap3:

The damper to the whole thing is that today we had to say goodbye to our faithful kelpie. She has been part of the family for 15 and a half years. The youngest can't remember a time when she wasn't here. :cry2:

Japan for me!! Very excited; I went 12 years back on a sister city exchange program and loved it. My husband has been wanting to go ever since, so off we go. Will travel about plus visit one of the students we had stay with us many years ago. Then daughter number 2 will visit us in her break (Canberra teacher), so, no rest but looking forward to it. Happy holidays everyone.

Oh Macca, these holidays 2 years ago I too had dental surgery - the start of the worst period of my life. I hope yours goes better than mine, I'm sure it will.
Favourite son (only son) is getting married on Easter Saturday to a wonderful girl - in a shearing shed - so looking forward to it.

All you guys sound like you have fantastic holiday plans.

I will be doing nothing this easter but at least my husband will be home for the entire 2 weeks so that will be nice. (He works in WA for 2 weeks on 2 off).

Oh, I love this time of term where we get to talk about what we are doing when we are NOT at work! It's good to hear what everyone is doing, too. My husband is off work for the first week, so, as usual, we will be going camping for about 4 nights. We still haven't decided where we are going or exactly what part of the week we are going. We'll make it up closer to the time.

The second week I'm planning on taking it easy, but my Yr 11 son is still happy to be seen in public with me (especially if there is food involved) so if the weather is good, we'll get out a couple of times.

I'm sure we are all counting down the days.
