Its very scary isn't it. My mum is in Lithgow and my brother in Springwood. My childhood home has been destroyed although my mum moved into town some years ago. I feel so sorry for all the poor people involved in this and hold the firefighters in the hghest esteeem. I pray they are all safe.

My family are in Port Stephens and have been very busy fighting fires and protecting their own home. My Dad and Brother had a close call while fighting fires in Willamtown which caused damage to their tanker. I'll be glad when it's all over and gives everyone a break

I work at Penrith but live in the Blue Mountains as do many staff and students. We had one family, a year 12 girl loose their home. I live at Woodford and on the southern side so for the moment are quite safe but things can change very quickly! the school had a fundraiser and raised over $2000 for the family wich was fantastic.
