use of aceto orcein supplied as solution

Post by louie »

Dear All, I've got this product - its already a solution-ITs from chemsupply. The only directions in my lab manual are for making it from scratch with orcein and glacial acetic acid - but this has already been done prior to supply as it is a solution and marked corrosive - is it redy to use for testing for the presence of nucleic acids ? thanks Louie

Aceto-Orcein

Post by Robb »

Hi Louie,

This stain you have from Chem-Supply is in soloution already this means that it is ready to be used as is, Usually the Aceto-Orcein is a solid substance which needs secondary preparation.

Hope this Helps..

Cheers,

Robb......
