Joules Calorimeter

Post by Krysia Lee »

Good Morning Everyone,
Feel like its been a while since I had a chance to jump on here, Hope you're all good or at least well and careful. Does anyone have Joules calorimeters? For the first time in 7 years in this job a teacher has asked for ours but then we looked inside them and he is suspects that the lining material may be asbestos? They appear to have been bought to our school by Noah so I haven't got a clue what's in them. Anyone know anything about these?
thanks
Krysia

Mine are just metal containers, the lid has the element fitted (which can rust or become detached) they fit inside a polystyrene box and lid that has holes for the electricity terminals, thermometer and a stirring rod. Even the ancient ones are the same, just falling apart.
