Does anyone do their own fume cupboard smoke test and if so, how do you create the smoke for testing?

We get ours tested by the supplier every 6 months, so I don't worry about doing it myself. I'm not sure what the regulations are in regard to testing, whether it has to be a licensed operator. It would be worth checking out before you go any further.
