Cleaning a Pear shape Flask

The senior chemistry class, managed to burn the solution in a pear shape flask. Any ideas on how to remove this stain. I have currently tried.
Oxalate Acid Soaked over the weekend
HCL soaked for about 4 days.
Any helpers

Something I have filed away as potentially useful information, but have not tried, is: for any carbon deposit, dissolve 6g trisodium phosphate and 3g sodium oleate in 100ml water. Use this solution to soak. If you have these chemicals on hand it may be worth a try.

Hi Pommy,
a good glassware soaking solution is Pyroneg detergent.
(available from Science Supply, 1300 857 544, 3kg approx. $55.)
Good luck with this one - a difficult problem!

Try 'napysan' over night. (not sure how its spelt?)
Not only does it remove stains from clothing but also.....pots, pans and glasswear!

The nappy San won, hands down. Came in this morning and the burnt on mark had lifted right off.

Hi,
I am just new to this Chemtalk thing (and new to lab assisting too... this is my 5th week!) and I have some glassware that needs cleaning from before I started. There are various types and amounts of deposits on several items. I have no idea what they are! I was going to ask for cleaning ideas as everything tried so far hasn't worked. Having read this, though, I will bring in some nappysan tomorrow and give it a go.
Thanks for all the useful hints and tips. I'm sure I will be using Chemtalk regularly!

Hi All,
A handy hint to use would to to use a Test Tube Brush and Bend the end to fit into the hard - to - reach part of the glass to be cleaned. This helps because you can then use it to physically brush the affected area.
