For those using the Jacaranda risk assessments on RiskAssess - the kidney dissection has nilodor spray (air freshener) as one of the items to send out for the class. Does anyone actually do this?

No, but one of the teachers here takes a bottle of eucalyptus oil into dissections for students to sniff if they don't like the smell. Whatever works. When I catch the kids being grossed out, I tell them that if they decide to have kids, cutting up a kidney is gonna seem like a walk in the park by comparison.

I always send out disinfectant, but not nilodor (or any other air freshener).

We don't do air freshener but do send out disinfectant (for the tools) and some Spray N Wipe

I find it tends to be surfaces like the trays causing any lingering smells so the Spray N Wipe on the benches is usually enough to get rid of any meaty smells

Kidneys smell like piss ……Strangely …… Let them smell it and remember what it filters .

Do they take nilodour to the toilets .
