The manufacturers are obligated to supply them on their website, it's required by law, do you have the container it came in? Or don't you stock it and the teacher just wants to know it's characteristics?

We do not have Iron II Oxide. He just whated the MSDS, but with Chemwatch unable to get onto. I wondered if any one may have a spare MSDS, was needed for this lesson. Not to worry, should have asked earlier.

Check out this link as it seems to give some leads as to where to get it.

Also try hobby ceramics places as, from a google search, it appears to be a colouring agent.

Apart from checking ceramic supply places for black iron oxide, try Mitre 10 or Bunnings. Just ask where the oxides are. (Might be handy to mention cement as well.) I have bought black iron oxide and made a solution with powdered cement to paint over the concrete between the rocks in my garden. I don't know if the container or bag identifies the chemical formula.
