Re: Laundry

I wash our towels, lab coats and cloths in the home Ec washing machine, then pop into drier afterwards.
How do you manage without a washing machine? One place I worked in didnt have a washing machine, it was stressful, and towels hanging everywhere

Make sure that your celery has enough leaves to allow transpiration, to draw water up. Can use red food colouring if you have no eosin.
Place the celeryin the dye water out in the lab, with cutting boards. scalpels or razors or hand microtomes. the teachers and studetns are to cut it themselves

I have an Aqua One 2700 water pump that s ervices a 5 foot long tank. Works really well. However, its been running for 12 mths now non stop, and was told upon purchase that I need to replace the pads every 9-12 mths, or when water quality begins to fail. Water quality still good, but been over 12 mt...

Re: Lab sand buckets

I have a central point for the sand bucket, that being the "Spills Kit" corner. Makes a good barrier to stop spilled liquids from running, as well as can be used to smother small fires. Since they are kept in the prep room area and out of student reach, they dont accumulate rubbish. Also v...

Re: Euglena Help

Hi Narelle If you want a pure culture of euglena, you can buy from a bio supply company. But if you dont mind some microbeast cousins in there  , you can just chuck out the old infusion, and start afresh with new hay infusions. I find manure with a bit of straw or hay in it a very helpul edit...
