Thread for pulleys

Post by cheltie »

Hi Everyone,
Need some help finding a supplier for some thread we use for pulleys and things. It is on a large red spool and what is left of the label says serafil. One of the teachers thought it might be sail makers thread. Any ideas?
Thanks

Wendy Browne, from Oxley HS up here put me on to a saimakers thread from QStores:

# 991680

You may have to give them a ring - don't know if it's still available or what the new number is.

Good Luck!

Thread/twine

In the past we have ordered sailmakers thread from Q-Stores (thanks to Fibreweb), but have rung them today to find they no longer stock it.
So thought I'd ask the brains trust for some ideas for a good, strong, thin thread/cord - what do you get, and where from, please?

Do try spot light, I have not purchased from them, but was told at a network meeting it can be brought from spot light.

Thanks Labbie and smiley, we'll have a look at both those options.

Thanks also for merging the threads (ha ha, very punny), labbie. Should have thought of doing a search!

mazza,

Have had a look at their website. Did you buy the serabraid?? It looks like the thread we used to use and I'd be keen to buy some more. Could you please tell me what you paid for it??

Thank you

Many thanks everyone - the Serafil 10 is what we used to get from Q-Stores. We found the company you're buying it from while searching online the other day, so it's good to confirm that's the right place to contact.
