Hi voice. In another life, I used to work for Fisheries and we used to use malachite green as a water treatment for parasites, but I'm not sure about leucomalachite! No doubt it is a completely different beast. What do you actually use it for? 8)

This came from Wikipedia, so I'm not too sure how much creedence you can put on it:
Hemoglobin catalyzes the reaction between LMG and hydrogen peroxide, converting the colorless LMG into malachite green. Therefore, the appearance of a green color indicates the presence of blood.[3]
Protocol 2.18 Leucomalachite Green Presumptive Test for Blood, National Forensic Science Technology Center, July 8, 2010, Retrieved on July 8, 2010.

Try and chase up this link. It describes the whole process: :D

It is a presumptive test for blood. Thus, if a brown stain on the carpet reacts with the leucomalachite green reagent then it is blood! At least that is the theory!

Just an idea, why not ask the local police, they may even use something else. We had a network meeting once, and the police gave us a long chat. Said they were very happy to help if they could with, chemicals etc. Who knows perhaps they have some to give you?

Just a thought, you try Southern Biological in Melbourne, they
supply forensic science test kits, they may have this indicator.
