Our teachers use sodium metal as a demo only.But when I purchased ours last year I had to fill out paperwork,like a licence,the principal had to sign it,before they would send it.

I bought my sodium thiosulfate pentahydrate at science supply australia at 500g for $11.50 only last term.You can also get it at westlab on special till this friday 15% off all chemicals.
Concerntration? do you mean molecular weight? mine m.w. is 248.18

oh my goodness petal.
You can buy agar powder from science supply australia for $72 for 500g and $29 for 100g.If you need nutreint agar we just add vegimite to the normal agar powder

Julie that doesnt sound fair at all. The director general has just posted a letter on our intranet stating that "staff members who are excluded from their school ( WITH SWINE FLU )will not suffer a loss of pay" This policy should also stand for your dilema I'll be watching this space for u...

we allow our 7-10's to use the scalpels but in groups, one tray per desk (10 desks) and im helping by wandering around the room watching the little petals disect.
If I see a problem I call the teacher.

I needed the ID and password too, I spoke to Hugh Tranter at OHS directorate who emailed everything I needed to know.
But the only problem now is that because the password is so sensertive Im having trouble getting in again.I havent started our manefest yet!Good luck

Just as an extra note its not the labbies responibility to do the chemregister for "the whole school" that is the resopnibility of the OHS teacher.You only look over the science facaulty chemicals.
