Tapers

Post by Paula »

I am having trouble finding where I can get tapers. The long birthday candles drip and burn too quickly. I have asked candle shops etc to no avail. So if any one knows I'd be grateful!

Tapers

Hi Paula,
this was discussed last year. I had trouble getting re-supplied with tapers, too. The forum discussion came up with the good idea of wooden applicator sticks. They come in a box of 1,000 (last for ages). They burn for hydrogen testing and smoulder for oxygen testing. And no wax droppings!
Supplier: Tollot P/L
1/30-32 Foundry Road, Seven Hills NSW 2147.
Code: 10107311
Good Luck,

Hello
You can get tapers from any church supply shop.

A good idea for tapers is to encase them in plastic straws as this prevents breakages and warping from hand warmth.

Hi Michelle,
What a great idea putting the tapers in plastic straws!!!
They alway break, so this will give them a longer life. Fantastic.
I really enjoy reading all the tips and ideas from this website.

We buy boxes of tapers through SDS education supplies catalogue.
Code 114581 approx $11.30/bx. There address is http://www.sdsonline.qld.gov.au. Not sure if this helps since you are in Vic.
cheers kim.
