centrifuge

Post by cosmo »

Hi all,
my school has a centrifuge that came off the ark  , and has no safety catch to prevent it being opened while the rotor is spinning. It doesnt get used much, but I am thinking that it is too unsafe and would like to ask for a replacement.
Does anyone have any recommendations? Im thinking of something electric, that takes 10ml-ish tubes, has a safety lock (and maybe a brake would be nice).
Serrata has one that looks OK at a reasonable price (mod 90-2)...anyone have this?

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
cheers

Ours are out of the ark also. Just bench mounted and hand driven. No such thing as a brake. We only use it with juniors with muddy water. Whilst they are old, I think they do the job for us, so haven't looked to replacing them. Sorry can't help.
