Pipette Fillers
Pipette Fillers
Has anyone purchased any Pi-pump pipette fillers recently? I have had no luck with ours. Two different suppliers now and after one use (or before!!) the internal plunger seems to come away on the inside and they do not work. We have heaps at my other workplace that have been there for years and years and we use them no problems but these new ones are crap. Any suggestions?

Re: Pipette Fillers
Our Pi-pump pipette fillers come from Omega Scientific. They seem to be working okay so far. We have had them for at least five years or so, maybe longer.

Sounds a bit like our Griffin pipette fillers. The old ones were fine, no problems, except the usual student misuse.
Bought new ones and they all failed - they were made in a different country to the original and were cheaper.
Sent them back, paid the difference, and got the better ones from original company.

Re: Pipette Fillers
Ordered some pipette fillers from Office max recently, the ones with the adjustable thumb wheel, and half of them are too stiff to turn the wheel, so they've been forced and the plunger thing inside has come away (broken). Is it worthwhile ordering from somewhere else, or is this problem a sign of the times? In other words, crap equipment!

Re: Pipette Fillers
Try putting a little vasoline (Sorry wrong spelling) on the little wheel. It should then be just fine.

Hi Sunray,
Where did you end up getting your pipette fillers from? (the ones that worked!)
Cheers, Ellice
