Re: Science and Engineering Challenge
We have caused a minor headache for the school. The nationals, in Lismore, are on 31 October which is the final day of our annual grade 9 Canberra trip. So they have to figure out what to do with the grade 9's that are on the team, find even more staff that want to go on an overnight trip with students and find funds to send them. Luckily not my problem!
What is my problem though, is that I am most likely going to be discriminated against because of my sex! As we are an all girls school we are needing more female staff to go than male and it looks like I will be the one that will miss out to make way for another female staff member.

Thanks Lisa. We always do well at regionals, but always fall down at the state final. Not this year though! They love busting that stereotype that boys are better than girls at these things!
Re: Science and Engineering Challenge
Our kids got knocked out at National level one year.
Not a bad achievement for a DET school in a relatively isolated location with less than 200 students!!

Re: Science and Engineering Challenge
The Henry Lawson High School won the NSW title so we are off to Lismore too. Therefore I can't wish your school success, Wayne Unfortunately as our finals were held later than other states, all accomodation at Lismore was booked out and as a result we are chartering a plane and doing it all in one day which will make for some very exhausted students. Lots of fundraising and community support have made it possible to keep costs to a minimum for the students.

Now, now children! Play nice...
Congratulations to both your schools, it's obvious they have achieved due to the superior service you both provide!

Well we didn't win. Don't know where we came as they only announced the winner on their live stream. I'm sure they did themselves proud.

Re: Science and Engineering Challenge
That is sad, but you were a winner to get there! Think of all those schools that didn't even make it to the nationals...Congratulations on your (the school's) effort!

Re: Science and Engineering Challenge
Congratulations Wayne on your school getting so far in the competition. We came 2nd, only 48 points behind the winner. Thanks Loopy for the recognition that Wayne and I deserve for our superior service that got our schools so far. If only our schools recognised our superior service as well

Re: Science and Engineering Challenge
Well done mazcheck, your school finished one place ahead of us, we came third. Like Mazcheck, it would be good if schools recognised the effort we put in as well.
Thanks Loopy!
