electronic balance

Post by Kathryn »

Hi everyone

We are looking to purchase a new electronic balance. I notice ISSCO has a special on Opteck balances - buy one get one free. Does anyone know (a) about the quality of the Optek balances and (b) the reliability of ISSCO as I have never used them before.

Thanks

Hi Kathryn,
I have used ISSCO for microscopes, no problem at all. I have never had Optek balance, but am sure, should be fine. I have different make but 300g max with 0.01g precision and I love it for small excact amounts of chemicals. I find I need to consider the vessel in which I weigh chemicals, as 300g is limiting.
For students we have 0.1g precision, which is fine for their work.
They need to weigh trolleys etc, so we have 2kg balance for them.
Go for it!

600g could be a better option.
